International Student Support
The Doshisha Women’s College of Liberal Arts, International Affairs Office performs the following duties for privately-funded international students.
Hold the Privately-Funded International Student Orientation (Beginning of April)
We hold an orientation with the goal of helping students to adapt quickly to a new environment, and to socialize and interact among themselves, we explain various necessary procedures to all international students who come to DWCLA.

- • International Affairs Office Introduction • Passport • Confirm residence status • Explanation of legal procedures related to residence in Japan (residence status, residence notification, participation in National Health Insurance) • Application for permission for activities outside of the residence status • Application for tuition fee reduction • Scholarship introduction (on/off campus) • National Health Insurance premium subsidy for international students
Applying for Foreign Resident Status
There are a number of legal procedures necessary for foreigners to stay in Japan. These procedures are very important for guaranteeing the status of students staying in Japan.
(The Immigration Services Agency began an email delivery service in March 2021. This service provides the latest updates on study abroad support and measures against coronavirus infections. In the future, it plans to provide information on vaccines against coronavirus infections. Notices from the Government/Off-Campus Organizations
International Affairs Office Reference Room
At the International Affairs Office Reference Room, we provide multi-lingual computers for international student use. We also have newspapers, magazines, and flyers for various off-campus events. Please feel free to use these during break times, lunch and after school. Students who are interested in study abroad and international exchange visit us frequently, so if you come, you may be able to meet new friends.
Notifications from the International Affairs Office will be sent to all international students by email, and will be posted on the campus bulletin board, so please be sure to check these regularly.
