Studying the development and diversity of information media from a cultural perspective

The evolution of communication and media in the 21st century, especially the advancement and popularization of modern information technologies, has sparked innovation in various regions, and is having an effect on people's ways of thinking and behavioral patterns. In that sense, study into people's intellectual and cultural activities today is seeking a new perspective on information culture, based on a framework of conventional cultural research. In this major, we will organically combine the two approaches of media and expression culture regarding these modern issues in our unique education and research system.

Through research in the media and expression culture fields, students will gain highly specialized knowledge regarding information media, as we train human resources who can demonstrate expressive and production abilities making full use of cutting-edge media. Our goal is to develop human resources who can be active in the multiple fields, such as mass media, advertising-related, and information technology fields, art-related fields that make full use of media, and information media educational fields, and will contribute to the development of modern media society.
