We will primarily be studying literary and cultural backgrounds in England, literary and cultural backgrounds in the United States, and linguistic research on English itself. In particular, in the doctorate program (first term), we will aim to understand the true nature of these issues in a broad perspective, by narrowing down the study subjects through study related to other adjacent fields.

Cultivate precise English communication ability

Composed of courses that approach the study themes in various ways, focused on courses related to literature and language. We will develop advanced English communication abilities that can be utilized in work life, expanding the field of activity. In order to cultivate a more global perspective, students have the option of utilizing D.W.C.L.A.'s unique study abroad system to study at a graduate school overseas for one year.
