Learning and Nurturing Content
Deepen the understanding of children living in various multicultural and multilingual environments, and create a theoretical foundation to support children in local communities and society. Additionally, acquire deep specialized knowledge through comprehensive understanding of children from a family, medical care, and literature point of view. Learn the childcare theory and skills necessary for nursery school and kindergarten teachers, and cultivate the ability to plan activities with a perspective.
Learning and Nurturing Art
Learn theories for designing and evaluating children’s learning, and acquire the practical theories necessary for actually guiding children. Classes required for kindergarten and elementary school teaching courses, such as each’s subject’s theory and teaching method, are also included to develop the ability to embody and propose guidance plans that are close to the child’s point of view.
Children’s Studies Practice
Head out to the local community and education/childcare centers and acquire the ability to abstract concrete facts. Additionally, students will be able to refresh the already-learned theories and skills through internships and workshops-type lessons at schools, and will cultivate the ability to communicate in new ways. Through practical training they will become empathically and rationally involved with children, and will polish the skills for putting the things they learn in university into practice in a concrete context.

From birth until death, people develop in various ways. Learn the basic theories of developmental psychology, with a particular focus on early childhood development, with an outlook on lifetime development.

Primarily consider the current situation and support for children in developing regions, while relating the issues of poverty and development to globalization. Reflect on the current condition of Japanese children, and the issues they face in school education.
