Our department has courses such as clothing manufacturing training, cooking science training, housing design training, and childcare training. Through such practical trainings, we will cultivate the practical skills for utilizing the knowledge and ways of thinking obtained through lectures in real life. Additionally, practical training and experiments are indispensable for obtaining a home economics teaching license.

Living
Interior Design Training
Students will create image boards by collecting various interior images and materials, design a cafe's interior, and develop their ability to give a presentation about the attractiveness of a work.
Housing Studies
Students will learn about how to properly choose a home that suits themself and their family, and the design for living comfortably in the home.
Landscape Design Theory
Students will learn about the history born from the concepts of landscapes and scenery, how to read landscape characteristics in rural areas and cities, and methods for landscape design. Additionally, we will explore just what landscape beauty is through group works and challenges.
Attire
Clothing Design Theory
Students will learn the basic knowledge for clothing design, and develop the analytical understanding and sensibilities for design using fashion illustrations and images.
Textile Design Training
Students will learn the basic methodologies of flat design, and use felt and stencil to design their own original works.
Attire Culture Theory
We will take up the elements for people's maintenance of their outward appearance and looking beautiful, such as ornaments, accessories, makeup, and hair, and approach culturally and historically through specific grooming examples.
Connections
Regional Planning Exercise
Learn the procedures for practical town development based on field surveys, using the familiar natural environment and tourism resource of the Kamo River as an example.
Children of the World
Get to know global issues such as war and poverty, the children living in these conditions, and learn about the efforts to solve these issues.
Thanatology
Students will deepen their understanding through discussions on the theme of looking at life within lifestyle.
