Regarding the Name Change to Faculty of Liberal Arts, Department of Media

The Faculty of Liberal Arts, Department of Information and Media changed its department name to the Department of Media as of April 2018.
The new department name will be applied to all new students from the 2018 academic year. Students who enrolled from 2017 and before will not be subject to the department name change.

Reason for the Department Name Change

The Faculty of Liberal Arts, Department of Information and Media was created in 2002 with the goals of developing model expressiveness and information literacy, and to cultivate women who can survive creatively in 21st century society.
Seventeen years have passed since the department was established. Changes regarding the media and information education environments, and the resulting complexity and diversification of social environments are rapidly accelerating. We believe that the expectations of cultivating women who can survive creatively in the 21st century, which is our goal, are increasing.
In these circumstances, D.W.C.L.A. changed the name of the Department of Information and Media to “Media”, as we educate and research with a clear awareness of cultivating creativity and problem-solving abilities.
