Scholarship Programs

Doshisha Women's College of Liberal Arts offers the following scholarships to international students to enable them to concentrate on their studies without financial worry. We also introduce scholarships offered by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), local public organizations and private scholarship organizations. The Department of Student Affairs is in charge of announcing offerings and handling applications.

Scholarships offered by D.W.C.L.A.

Scholarships for privately-financed international students (open application: scholarships designated by Doshisha Women's College of Liberal Arts)

  • 1. Taketo Sakamoto Scholarship
    Eligibility: international students having difficulty continuing studies due to financial reasons
    Type: scholarship
    Period: one year (students can apply for this scholarship every year)
    Amount: 50,000 yen
  • 2. Kim Okra Scholarship
    Eligibility: international students having difficulty continuing studies due to financial reasons
    Type: scholarship
    Period: one year (students can apply for this scholarship every year)
    Amount: 50,000 yen
    When to apply: October

Outside Scholarships

We will post information on scholarship offerings by MEXT, local public organizations and private scholarship organizations on the message board of the Department of Student Affairs as it becomes available. Contact the Department of Student Affairs for details.

Other

We offer short-term loans (maximum 30,000 yen) to support degree-seeking students who became temporarily unable to fund their living expenses or have difficulty continuing their studies due to emergency situations (such as illness or fire). If you fall into such situation after entering our college, please consult with the Department of Student Affairs.
